THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR GIFT

HMTC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization. Founded over 25 years ago, the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County is the preeminent Holocaust resource on Long Island. Featuring a contemporary museum, the Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive providers of Holocaust and Tolerance education programs in the region. When you support the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center with your tax-deductible gift, you help preserve the history of the Holocaust by honoring the victims and teaching lessons that combat hatred, intolerance, and bullying.

HMTC needs your support now more than ever to be able to continue to provide Holocaust and Tolerance Education programming to students and adults.

Here are just a few of the many reasons to support HMTC:

  • Antisemitism, hate speech, and other acts of hate are on the rise on Long Island and throughout the region.

  • HMTC provides educational programming that empowers students and adults to safely and effectively combat antisemitism, bullying, and bias in their schools and communities.

  • HMTC preserves Holocaust Survivor’s testimony and ensures that students can hear first-hand testimony from Survivors and their descendants.

  • Presented the Pinnacle Award for our outstanding videoconferencing program from the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration for two consecutive years.

  • In the last school year more than 70,000 students from Long Island, the region, across the United States, and throughout the world took part in one of HMTC’s educational programs and the demand for HMTC programs continues to rise.

  • Every Nassau County and Suffolk County Police cadet participates in HMTC’s “Law Enforcement and Society: Lessons of the Holocaust” program.

  • HMTC provides custom professional development programming for teachers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, law enforcement personnel, and others.

  • HMTC’s state-of-the-art museum features artifacts, photos, and other materials that have a local connection. Our museum tells the story of your family, friends, and neighbors here on Long Island.

  • The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center features the Children’s Memorial Garden – the only garden of its kind in New York State.

FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY.
