CURATOR’S CORNER

The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County (HMTC) presented a virtual “Curator’s Corner” on March 10, 2021, about a photo of Holocaust Survivor Charlotte Gillman. HMTC’s Museum and Programming Director, Dr. Thorin Tritter, talked about a pre-war photograph in the first gallery of HMTC’s museum that shows Charlotte, who survived the Holocaust after being hidden in a series of Catholic converts and was able to reunite with her family. Charlotte passed away in 2021, but her photo remains a central part of our gallery.
