Remember the past. Consider the future.
Founded in 1992 by Holocaust survivors, HMTC has been a vital educational resource for Long Island and beyond, dedicated to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and promoting upstander education, which teaches young people to acknowledge and respond to hatred and discrimination to create a better society. The museum houses a rich collection of survivor testimonies, artifacts, and exhibits that convey the powerful lessons of history. Through interactive programs, lectures, and guided tours, HMTC fosters an understanding of the dangers of hatred and the importance of standing against antisemitism and discrimination in all forms. HMTC serves over thirty five thousand students and professionals each year, including students from 5th grade through high school, all incoming Nassau and Suffolk Police Cadets as well as nurses and more. We provide essential education on the Holocaust’s historical significance and its modern-day implications. It is the "go to" center for Long Island public schools to meet their educational requirements of teaching the lessons of the Holocaust under State law. With the rise of antisemitism misinformation, hate speech, and intolerance across social media platforms, it is imperative that TOGETHER we continue to provide credible, historically accurate, and thought-provoking discussions. A legacy secures an unparalleled opportunity to remember the worst event in human history by creating and providing high-quality education, podcasts and digital content that address antisemitism, the Holocaust, and intolerance in today’s world.
