Elzbieta Rabinek, a young Polish gentile, lives in Warsaw just beyond the walls of the ghetto, protected by a secret identity designed to keep her safe. She knows all too well about the Germans’ brutality, yet she enters the ghetto on a social work mission to help the Jewish families imprisoned there. Through her deepening relationship with Roman, a zealous resistance fighter within the ghetto, she makes a shocking set of discoveries that propel her into a dangerous world of deception and heroism.
Dr. Linda Burghardt, Scholar-in-Residence, will lead the discussion.
