On July 26, 1946, Justice Robert H. Jackson, the chief prosecutor at the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg, gave his closing statement. Professor, John Q. Barrett, the leading Robert Jackson scholar, will present a virtual program about this closing statement and the importance of the Nuremberg Trials.

John Q. Barrett is a Professor of Law at St. John’s University, where he teaches Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure and Legal History. He is also Elizabeth S. Lenna Fellow and a Board Member of the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown, NY. Professor Barrett is a renowned teacher, writer, commentator, and lecturer on law and history topics.

His “Jackson List” emails, reach well over 100,000 readers around the world. Currently, Professor Barrett is writing a biography of Justice Jackson. He previously discovered, edited and published Justice Jackson’s acclaimed memior, “That Man: An Insider’s Portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt.”

Professor Barrett serves on the board of the Historical Society of the New York Courts. He previously chaired the NYC Bar Association’s Legal History Committee and served on the International Expert Advisory Council of the International Nuremberg Principles Academy in Nuremberg, Germany.
